The challenge
Every branch was a one-offSixty-two sites fitted out by different contractors over fifteen years. The bank could not tell you what was behind the wall in any of them.
No branch could closeWork ran overnight and at weekends, and every branch had to open the next morning whatever state we were in.
The auditor wanted evidence, not assuranceTest certificates, as-builts and a labelling scheme, per branch, in a form that could be produced on request.

The outcome
The bank now holds one drawing set and one labelling scheme for sixty-two branches. A branch fault is described down the phone using the same reference in every location, and the audit evidence is produced from a folder rather than assembled from memory.
